Namings
Some moments in life deserve more than just a quick announcement in the family group chat and a round of applause over beige buffet food. They deserve to be properly witnessed, celebrated and held up proudly in front of the people you love most. That’s where I come in!
Naming ceremonies can mark the arrival of a new baby, celebrate an adoption, honour a new name or gender transition, blend families together, or simply give space to say: this is who I am, and this is my community.
What’s included?
Naming ceremonies start from £200, excluding travel outside a 50-mile radius from London and every single one is written completely from scratch for the people at the centre of it. No templates, no copy-and-paste ceremonies and certainly no awkward “repeat after me” energy, unless that’s your thing. Then we’ll revel in that!
Whether we’re celebrating a new arrival, a new name, a growing family or a whole new chapter in life, my job is to create something that feels joyful, meaningful and unmistakably personal – the kind of ceremony where people leave feeling all warm and squidgy inside (especially that work colleague that ‘doesn’t do emotions’).
The ‘tell me everything’ chat
We’ll start with a relaxed video call where you can tell me all about the person being celebrated, your family, your story and the kind of atmosphere you’d like to create for the ceremony.
You don’t need to have everything figured out at this stage, we can comb through it together. This is also when you can ask me any and all questions you might have!
Squeezing out the details
Once you’ve decided you’d like to proceed, I’ll ask lots of questions and spend time getting to know the people at the heart of the ceremony properly.
We can start to think about involving family and friends too (if that’s what you’d like) – through readings, promises, symbolic moments or simply by giving them space to share stories and love openly.
Writing the ceremony
A few months out from the day itself, I’ll take all those lovely details and turn them into a ceremony that feels completely authentic to you and your ‘village’.
The tone might be serious, it might be casual, it might be funny or really sentimental – whatever fits you and the person we’re celebrating best. Together, we’ll then do unlimited tweaks until every part feels just right.
The big day
On the day itself, I’ll arrive early, folder in hand and keep everybody calm and excited.
I’ll then lead the ceremony with warmth and care. My biggest goal is always the same: creating a moment that feels genuine and memorable, never stiff or performative.
