Weddings
I refuse to think of the ceremony as the bit you sit through before the “real fun” starts. With me, the ceremony is the heart of the day. The bit people will remember, talk about for years afterwards and carry with them long after the confetti’s been swept away.
My approach is open-hearted, inclusive and easygoing. Nothing stiff or overly formal; more like listening to somebody who knows and loves you stand up and tell your story beautifully. Above all else, I’m here to make sure you and your favourite people feel something and have a bloody lovely time doing it.
What’s included?
The joy of a celebrant-led ceremony is there are no rules. No “this is how it’s always done”, no awkward boxes to fit into and no pressure to copy anyone else. Everything is yours to shape: the words, tone, structure, music, readings, rituals and all the meaningful little details.
I don’t come with a fixed idea of what your ceremony should be – it might be polished and demure, feral and free, gameshow-style or inspired by Kylie. Anything goes. My job is to know you as a friend and create something authentic to your story and love.
And if you’re unsure where to start, no biggie. We’ll figure it out together and craft something remarkably you.
The ‘are we about to become best friends?’ chat
First, we’ll have a call or meet in person to chat properly. I want to hear your story and plans, and you can ask me anything. This step is key because choosing a celebrant is deeply personal. You deserve somebody who feels like the right fit, not somebody reading from a template with the emotional range of a parking ticket.
Oh, so we’re really doing this?
If we vibe and you decide I’m your person, I’ll send over a booking form and invoice for the booking fee to get your date secured in the diary. And then? Oh, then the fun really starts.
Snorkels on for the deep dive
This is where I get to know you properly, sort like a pig digging for truffles (that’s how I think about myself at this point). Your relationship, stories, people, in-jokes, favourite memories and the little details that make you, you. We’ll chat often, I’ll learn your coffee order (our bonding juice) and I’ll ask lots of questions. If you’re happy, I’ll also speak to family and friends for extra insights. By the big day, we won’t feel like colleagues but more like real mates.
The good good
Once I’ve gathered all the details, I’ll start crafting your ceremony, usually about six months before the wedding, giving us plenty of time to tweak every word. I can also help with vows, guiding you to turn your feelings into the right words without drifting into “kind regards” territory. Before the day, we’ll run a rehearsal in person or via video call so everyone feels calm, comfortable, and ready.
It’s like Christmas!
It’s finally here. The best part: the ceremony! I’ll be there, folder in hand, making small talk with your weird uncle you warned me about and trying not to cry too soon. Ready to tell your story and guide everything with warmth and calm. Afterwards, we’ll have our PWD (post-wedding debrief), where we’ll check in, swap photos and stories and emotionally process the fact I’ve become attached to another wonderful couple.
Weddings start at £700, excluding any travel costs. Here’s everything my package includes:
Before the ceremony
- Initial chat: A relaxed conversation to ensure we connect and discuss your plans and wishes for the day.
- Deep dive: A couple’s quiz plus in-depth chats (together and separately) to truly understand you both, enough to gently embarrass you in front of your guests!
- Gathering stories: Optional yaps with your favourite people to collect stories and special details that make your relationship unique.
- Ceremony writing: Crafting a fully bespoke ceremony filled with sparkle, personality, and everything that reflects you perfectly, with unlimited edits until it’s just right.
- Vows & rehearsal support: Guidance or emotional support with writing vows, plus a rehearsal (in person or online) before the big day to ensure everyone feels calm and prepared.
On the day
- Calm, organised celebrant energy: I’ll arrive well ahead of time to help with ceremony setup, help you fix that one-piece-of-hair-that-won’t-hold-a-curl, soothe nerves and ensure everything runs smoothly before guests arrive. And FINE, if you need someone to quality-test the canapés, I’ll be a martyr!
- The magic moment: I’ll be there at the front, folder in hand, ready to deliver your ceremony with all the love your story deserves.
- Fully dedicated: I only book one wedding a day, so you’ll have my full time, energy, and attention throughout.
- Post-day debrief: We’ll process the day together and I will provide any follow-up you might need. This is one of my favourite parts: “It’s all the drama Mick, I just LOVE it!”
